Description

Mid 19th century, probably incorporating late 18th century fabric (see Notes). 2-storey, 3-bay, terraced house converted to 2 flatted dwellings, with stone-pedimented dormerheads, in Stonehaven's New Town. Harled with stone margins to N and squared rubble with Aberdeen bond and stugged margins to S.

N ELEVATION: ground floor with boarded timber door off-centre left and window in bay to left, further boarded timber door with 2-pane fanlight to right and window beyond. Tall stair window off-centre right and 2 1st floor windows breaking eaves into stone pediments.

S (CARRON TERRACE) ELEVATION: centre bay at ground with timber door and 2-pane fanlight, window in bay to right and later square-plan tripartite window projecting at left; 2 windows to 1st floor each breaking eaves into stone-finialled pediment.

4-pane glazing pattern in timber sash and case windows; 6-pane etched glass stair window with coloured margins. Grey slates. Coped squared rubble stacks with thackstanes and cans, some polygonal. Ashlar-coped skews.

INTERIOR: No 41 Cameron Street (3 Carron Terrace) with decorative plasterwork cornices, screen door with etched glass, decorative cast-iron balusters and timber fire surround.

BOUNDARY WALLS: stepped, flat-coped, rubble boundary walls.
