Description
The remains of a former mansionhouse stand as a farmhouse at Mains of Bognie. The building is two storeys high and constructed from pinned boulder rubble. It has an irregular arrangement of windows, and a pend, now built up, at the north end, featuring a moulded segmental arch on its west side. The south gable has crowstepped gables and coped chimneys. A trace of an oven is present, which was repaired in 1952, and a new window has been inserted at some point. A large, L-shaped walled garden adjoins the farmhouse, including a hemicycle entrance with plain piers topped with rubble pyramids. Part of the steading is either old or contains materials that have been re-used.
