Description
The Haddo Bridge, located over the Keithny Burn and also within Inverkeithny Parish, is likely from the early 19th century. It is a bridge with a single depressed arch span, designed to carry a private drive. The bridge is constructed from squared white granite blocks in ashlar, and features a coped parapet with a band course beneath. Pilaster strips are positioned on either flank of the arch, with panelled detailing at parapet level. The north parapet has been demolished. It is thought that either Archibald Simpson or John Smith, both of whom were involved in works at Haddo, may have been responsible for the bridge’s design. The bridge is currently in a state of neglect.
