Description
The Market Cross in Church Street, Macduff, dates from 1783, when earlier fragments were reassembled into its current form. It is made of granite and features a small carved plaque at the top and inscribed narrow slabs as arms, all mounted on a square tooled granite plinth. The plinth has large inscribed slate plaques on its north and south faces and a stepped, harled base. The cross and plinth are set on a circular crenellated platform that is accessed by a flight of steps.
