Description

The Estate Bridge at Glassaugh, likely designed by Archibald Simpson around 1840, is a single span bridge primarily constructed of tooled ashlar stone, with some sections of rubble work. It features a shallow segmental ashlar arch ring that springs from ashlar abutments. The bridge has rectangular end piers with panelled faces, which are connected by a band course and topped with an ashlar parapet. The approaches to the bridge are splayed. The approximate span of the bridge is 25 feet.
