16, 18, 20, 22 Culbert Street, Portsoy

16, 18, 20, and 22 Culbert Street in Portsoy is a mid-18th century terrace building that stands two stories tall with a dormerless attic. The structure is made of heavily pointed rubble with painted ashlar margins. The front on Culbert Street features four entrances that are irregularly spaced, including a pend, and there is a corniced ashlar doorpiece at No 20. The first floor has four windows that are regularly spaced.

No 22 includes a 1930s corner shop with an angled window on the east gable. There is a first-floor entry with a flanking window on the west gable, accessed by a masonry forestair, and a modern wing at the rear. The east gable facing Burnside has a pair of small attic lights. The windows throughout the building have 4, 9, and 12 panes and are made of timber sash and case. The building features coped end stacks with moulded cornices and has a slate roof, along with 19th-century rooflights.
