Description
Persley Castle Nursing Home, also known as Woodside House, was built shortly before 1797 for Gordon Baron and Co. It is a two-storey structure made of squared rubble in large courses. The building features advanced end bays with pepper-pot turrets and a three-storey crenellated centre tower that has a four-centred arch with a cavetto splay. Originally, it served as a dormitory for calico printing apprentices at Woodside Works.
