Description
View Cottage, located in Persleyden, is a mid-19th century building, likely serving as a gardener's cottage and contemporary with Danestone House.
This single-storey structure is designed in an L-shape, featuring a rear wing to the west and exhibiting Gothic architectural elements. The exterior is constructed from granite rubble, with the main three-bay entrance elevation harled and undressed grey granite margins, while brick is used at the quoins. The roof is pitched and slated, and tall, diagonally-set square stacks rise over the gables.
On the southeast elevation, the building has a three-bay layout with a centrally projecting entrance porch that features a pointed arched entrance. Flanking this entrance are pointed arched single light windows. The original sash and case glazing in these windows has been replaced with modern uPVC. Additionally, the glazing in the rear rectangular window has been lost and replaced with a picture window.
