Watersedge Cottage, Duck Bay, Bonhill

Watersedge Cottage is a mid-19th century single-storey cottage located in Duck Bay, Bonhill. It features a rectangular plan with Gothick details and was originally L-shaped, though it has undergone some modern alterations and additions. The structure is built from rubble with harl pointing and stugged, squared, and snecked sandstone, and it has advanced eaves.

The main elevation shows the original L-plan cottage on the left, with an advanced piend-roofed block. There is a rustic wooden gabled porch surround, although the door has been blocked and replaced with a casement window. To the left of this, there is a flat-roofed block in the re-entrant angle, which includes a shallow canted timber window and a narrow casement window in the bay on the outer left. On the outer right, there is a bay addition featuring a shallow canted window, a large gabled dormer, a French door, and modern cast-iron railings. Additionally, there is a modern uPVC canted conservatory on the outer right.

The cottage has timber lying-pane windows with pointed arch glazing at the arch heads, as well as casement windows. The roof is covered with grey slate and includes lead flashings, with a tall rendered and coped ridge stack topped with circular cans.
