Description

This building, located at 264-266 Holburn Street in Aberdeen, dates back to 1874 and is a single-storey cottage with an attic, featuring three bays. The east elevation is constructed of pink, dark grey, and light grey granite ashlar with finely finished margins, while the other elevations are made of granite rubble. It has a base course, a pink granite lintel course, and an eaves course.

The principal east elevation is symmetrical, with a doorway in the center bay of the ground floor, featuring a replacement panelled timber door with a letterbox fanlight. There are windows in the flanking bays on either side. The attic has a small gabled dormer in the center, flanked by canted dormers on both sides, all adorned with decorative timber cornices. Below the ridge, there is a pair of small lead lucarnes.

The north elevation is gabled and has a window in the center of the ground floor. The west elevation was not visible in 2001, while the south elevation is also gabled.

The building features timber sash and case windows, with 8-pane lying-pane windows on the ground floor. It has a grey slate roof with a scalloped lead ridge, stone skews with blocked skewputts, and coped polychrome granite gablehead stacks with circular and octagonal cans. The rainwater goods are made of cast iron.

The interior was not seen in 2001. The boundary wall consists of low coped rubble walls on the east side and rubble walls with brick coping on the remaining sides.
