Description
Circa 1870. 2-storey, basement and attic, 6-bay terrace comprising pair of 3-bay mirrored houses. Tooled coursed grey granite, finely finished to margins. Ground floor cills recessed; panelled timber doors with letterbox fanlights; projecting cills to 1st floor; eaves course; canted dormers to attic floor.
E (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: symmetrical; regular fenestration to basement floor; pair of doorways to centre of ground floor, continuous cornice on consoles, windows to flanking bays to left and right; regular fenestration to 1st floor; 2 pairs of dormers to attic floor.
N AND S ELEVATIONS: obscured by adjoining terraces (see separate listings).
W ELEVATION: lean-to addition flanked by windows to ground floor; 2 segmental-arched stair windows to centre, 2 small windows to 1st floor above, single window to each flanking bay; 2 dormers to attic floor.
Predominantly 4-pane timber sash and case windows. Graded grey slate roof with lead ridge. Stone skews with blocked skewputts. Corniced ridge stacks with octagonal cans. Cast-iron rainwater goods.
INTERIOR: not seen 1999.
BOUNDARY WALLS AND RAILINGS: decorative iron railings with anthemion finials, on low granite wall to E of terrace; brick coped rubble walls to rear.
