Description
50-52 King Street is a mid 19th century, three-storey and attic Classical tenement building featuring six bays across the front and three bays along the side. It is located on a prominent corner site with a curved corner. The building is constructed of grey granite ashlar, with rubble at the rear. Notable architectural features include a band course, cill courses, an eaves cornice, and a blocking course that is upswept at the corner.
On the ground floor, there is a round-arched opening at the far right that contains a four-panel timber entrance door with a fanlight above it. Adjacent to this is a six-panel timber door with narrow timber jambs and a rectangular fanlight above. The building also has piended and pedimented dormers.
The windows are predominantly 12-pane timber sash and case, while the shop fronts feature plate glass. The roof is covered with grey slates and has gable stacks.
