Description
This is a 1930s two-storey detached villa with a roughly L-shaped plan, featuring a mix of traditional materials and modern references. The exterior is constructed from rock-faced rubble and has pitched slated roofs with timber-corniced, slightly overhanging eaves and red ridge tiles. Notable details include Art Deco glazing and wrought-ironwork.
On the south elevation, there is a broad single bay facing south, which features a strip-glazed semi-circular bowed window at the ground level, adorned with an Art Deco wrought-iron balustrade. At the first floor, there is a wide eight-light window that is recessed at the center and has timber mullions.
The west elevation consists of four bays, with two two-storey bays to the right of a projecting square-plan stair tower. This tower is lit by a continuous vertical strip window with amber-coloured Art Deco style leaded glass. There is a door located in a canted porch at the southwest re-entrant angle, which features a wrought-iron Art Deco balustrade and a two-leaf oak door with a diaper pattern. To the left, there is a lower single-storey wing that has a plate glass window jettied out on iron-work bracketing. The boundary wall to the west has been rebuilt, but the original wrought-iron gate remains at the southwest corner.
The interior was not seen during the last inspection in 1991.
