Description
7 and 9 King Street in Aberdeen is a classical tenement building designed by James Gillespie Graham in 1836. This symmetrical, three-storey structure features five bays, with the inner three bays slightly advanced and topped with a pediment. It is distinguished by imposing Ionic columns and pilasters that separate the bays on the first and second storeys. The building is constructed from grey granite ashlar and includes a base course, band and cill courses, and a parapet. The ground floor exhibits banded rustication with round arched openings for the central three windows and the flanking doorways, which are adorned with semi-circular fanlights.
The interior has been extensively altered to accommodate office space as of 2006.
