Description
Probably mid 20th century, altered. Rectangular-plan, large, brown brick smoke house/kiln with slated roof giving way to full-width raised ridge ventilator comprising timber-louvered openings, gabletted ends and slated capping.
SW ELEVATION: set-back gable elevation rising above low single storey fish house with additional 2nd floor at left (No 11), and window slapping at right (No 12). Further 2nd floor extension set-back at outer right.
NE ELEVATION: blank gabled elevation rising above low single storey fish houses.
INTERIOR: No 11 retains unaltered kiln interior accessed from 2 stable-type vertically-boarded timber doors within fish house. Divided internally, both smoking spaces have woodsmoke blackened walls and evidence of tenter hanging ledges. Kiln interior at No 12 converted to storage and bothy accommodation.
