Description
A Ellis and R G Wilson, 1886. 2-storey, 3-bay villa. Tooled grey granite polished to margins; granite rubble to rear. Base course; dividing band course; long and short dressings; eaves course; overhanging eaves on timber modillions.
SE (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: symmetrical; doorway to centre of ground floor, reached by 7 stone steps, corniced with consoles, surmounted by blind panel flanked by scrolls, panelled timber door flanked by glazed panels and surmounted by broad fanlight. Canted windows to flanking bays to left and right at ground floor forming balconies at to 1st floor bipartite windows; window to centre of 1st floor.
NE ELEVATION: not seen 2000.
NW ELEVATION: bay to left advanced with single storey addition to ground floor, regular fenestration and lean-to conservatory to right return, recessed flanking bays to right not seen 2000.
SW ELEVATION: regular fenestration.
Predominantly 2-pane timber sash and case windows. Grey slate piended and platform roof with lead ridges. Corniced granite gablehead stacks with octagonal cans. Cast-iron rainwater goods.
INTERIOR: not seen 2000.
GATEPIERS, BOUNDARY WALLS AND RAILINGS: square-plan granite gatepiers to SW, coped with pyramidal caps, flanked to left and right by coped Aberdeen bond granite walls, surmounted by railings to SE.
