Description
Robert Gordon Wilson, 1900. 2-storey and attic, 3-bay villa. Tooled coursed grey granites, with contrasting light grey long and short dressings, finely finished to margins of S elevation; granite rubble to remainder. Base course; dividing string course; overhanging eaves; timber bargeboards.
S (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: asymmetrical; chamfered doorway reached by stone steps to centre bay at ground floor, 2-leaf panelled timber door, with 3-pane fanlight, window to centre of 1st floor above; tripartite windows to ground and 1st floors of flanking bay to right, piend-roofed tripartite dormer to attic floor. Gabled bay slightly advanced to bay to left, 5-light canted window to centre of ground floor, parapet forming balcony to 1st floor, tripartite window to 1st floor; tripartite window set in half-timbered gablehead.
E ELEVATION: asymmetrical; gabled bay to left, irregular fenestration to remainder.
N ELEVATION: asymmetrical; 2-storey gabled wing adjoining to left; modern conservatory adjoining.
W ELEVATION: asymmetrical; gabled to right, single window to right of ground floor.
Predominantly timber sash and case windows with small-pane upper sashes. Piended and gabled grey slate roof with lead ridges. Coped gablehead stacks with circular cans. Cast-iron rainwater goods.
INTERIOR: not seen 2000.
GATEPIERS AND BOUNDARY WALLS: square-plan gatepiers with pyramidal caps to S, low coped granite wall between surmounted by railings; granite and brick coped rubble walls to remainder.
