Description

John Rust, 1896. 2-storey and attic, 2-bay house with Scots Baronial detailing. Tooled coursed granite, finely finished to margins. Base course; panelled timber doors; deeply chamfered cills; long and short quoins.

SE (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: asymmetrical; Tudor-arched doorway to left of ground floor, flanked to left by small window; window to 1st floor above with crowstepped gable breaking eaves, small vertical window set in gablehead, stone roundel finial to apex; circular angle turret corbelled-out to left angle at 1st floor, single narrow window, fishscale slate conical roof with decorative iron finial. Gabled bay to right, 3-light canted window through ground and 1st floor, forming balcony for Tudor-arched attic window, stone roundel finial to apex.

NE ELEVATION: gabled; window off-centre to right of 1st floor, remainder not seen 2000.

NW ELEVATION: not seen 2000.

SW ELEVATION: gabled; doorway to right of ground floor.

Predominantly 2-pane PVCu sash and case windows. Grey slate roof with lead ridge. Coped stone gablehead stacks with octagonal cans. Coped stone skews with scrolled skewputts. Cast-iron rainwater goods.

INTERIOR: not seen 2000.

BOUNDARY WALLS: coped walls to SE.
