Camperdown Dock, Dundee Harbour, Dundee

Camperdown Dock, located in Dundee Harbour, was designed by Charles Ower in 1857 and opened in 1865. It converted James Leslie's unfinished tide harbour, which began construction in 1833, into a wet dock covering 8.5 acres. The dock is roughly rectangular in shape, featuring a sea entrance at the chamfered southeast angle and providing access to Victoria Dock through the eastern wall. The dock has a depth of 18 feet and an entrance width of 54 feet. There is 2,425 feet of quayage made from Kingoodie ashlar, equipped with capstans and other dockside furniture. Additionally, a floating steel caisson dock gate at the entrance also functions as a bridge.
