Transit Shed 26, Camperdown Street, Victoria Dock, Dundee Harbour

The Transit Shed at Camperdown Street, located in Victoria Dock, Dundee Harbour, was designed by David Cunningham, the Harbour Engineer, with Charles Ower as the Consulting Engineer, and the ironwork was completed by John Stewart and Sons in 1874.

This single-storey structure features brick and timber cladding on the north side of Victoria Dock, divided into four sections by party walls. The northeast elevation showcases brickwork with an ashlar base and eaves courses, rusticated quoins, and timber sliding doors supported by malleable iron lintels. The square-section cast-iron rainwater goods are present, and Sheds 29 and 30 have been painted.

On the southeast elevation, there is a colonnade of cylindrical cast-iron columns with mask rainwater heads, which are reputedly modeled after the face of David Cunningham. The wall features timber sliding doors running the entire length, except for a section of Shed 26 that has modern brickwork, all supported by malleable iron girders.

The west gable is timber-boarded and currently painted, while the east gable adjoins the Clocktower warehouse, which was built in 1877. The roofs are slate without skylights, and there are three brick party walls. Inside, the structure has wrought-iron tie roofs and stone set floors.
