Description

The Railway Viaduct in Ayr was completed in 1856 and rebuilt around 1878. It features four spans and is constructed of squared sandstone. The design includes rusticated, rounded cutwaters and segmental arches with raised voussoirs. There are iron handrails on a bracketed pedestrian deck, panelled uprights, and decorative iron arching between the spans.
