Description
The Avon Viaduct, built in 1842 by engineers Grainger and Miller, features a 26 arch span that includes 20 segmental arches and 3 semi-circular arches at each end. It is constructed from cream squared and coursed sandstone ashlar, with rusticated piers. The design includes impost banding for each arch and a band course at the parapet.
