Description

The Railway Viaduct in Nairn was built between 1856 and 1857. It features four spans that cross the Nairn River, constructed from coursed rubble with an ashlar parapet and dressed stone arches. The design includes pointed cut-waters that rise to create corbelled refuges, which are connected at the level of the parapet by a rolled string course.
