Description
Constabulary Gardens in Nairn is a building from the later 19th century that was restored in 1971, showcasing Scottish Jacobean architectural details. It is two storeys high and has a roughly rectangular shape. The east elevation features three bays, including one rectangular and one canted ground floor, with a gabled design over the first floor. The north front has a square central porch that is crenellated and includes a mullioned window. A moulded string course serves as the cill for the first floor. The first floor windows have carved dormerheads, some of which are re-used, and the building is topped with crowstepped gables. The exterior is harled with ashlar dressing and carvings, and it has corniced end and ridge stacks along with a slate roof.
To the south, there is a rubble wing, and a rubble gighouse that has been adapted for garage use. The property is also marked by four square ashlar gate piers that are connected by a low screen wall with cast-iron railings, featuring pyramidal copes on the piers. The entrance includes cast-iron gates that display the Campbell monogram.
