2 Seaview, Warrenpoint, Newry, Co Down, BT34 3NH

This is a late 19th-century, end-of-terrace house situated along the seafront. It forms part of a row of four similar three-storey, two-bay houses facing the sea on the north-west side of the street. The house was first recorded in the Valuation Revision Book of 1880 and occupied from 1881.

The building’s pitched roof is covered in natural slate, with a rendered chimney on the right end and a modern skylight to the front. A molded advanced eaves course with ogee metal gutters runs along the roofline. The front wall is rendered and painted, featuring band rustication on the ground floor and lined detailing on the upper floor. A chamfered base course and continuous molded cill courses run along the upper floors.

The left bay is narrower and contains the main entrance in a semi-elliptical headed opening with lined voussoirs. The two-panelled door has glazed sidelights with aprons, and consoles support a timber entablature below a fanlight with a roundel inset. Above is a 1/1 top-hung window on each upper floor; the first floor window has a run molded architrave, while the second floor window is slightly reduced in height. The right bay features a full-height canted bay window with a canted natural slate roof that ties into the main roof and shares common eaves. Each face of the bay window has a modern 1/1 timber window, with molded architraves on the first floor and slightly reduced height on the second floor. A rendered dwarf wall and hedge enclose the front garden, with a modern gate. The left gable fronts onto the town park and is wet dashed and blank. The right gable acts as a party wall with number 3 Seaview. The rear elevation has not been inspected.
