Description

This is a two-storey and attic, three-bay house situated at the end of a terrace on the west side of Bagot Street. It is part of a group of seven houses in two terraces, first documented in the 1879 Valuation revision books. The house's construction likely occurred between 1860 and 1879, as part of a development by John Nesbitt, who was also involved with other properties in the area.

The house has a pitched natural slate roof with a rendered chimney featuring a projecting cap on the left side. Half-round gutters with a downpipe are present on the front elevation. The walls are smooth, painted, and lined with render. A modern four-panel timber front door with a plain transom sits centrally. To the right, at the right end of the street elevation, is a door clad in t+g sheeting, also with a transom, leading to a rear yard via a passage beneath the first-floor room. A 1/1 sliding sash window is located to the left of the front door. At the first floor, there are three 1/1 sash windows aligned with the ground floor openings, but slightly reduced in height. The rendered yard wall extends to the right of the yard door. The ground floor window and the one above are wider than typical, indicating a later modification. The two right-hand windows at the top of the facade are notably narrower than usual, though their concrete cills suggest they are unaltered in their width and correspond with the dimensions of the other houses in the terrace. The left gable shares a party wall with number 3 Bagot Street, while the right gable abuts the rear return of number 6 Sandys Street. A small 1/1 sash window, lacking a cill, is visible in the attic towards the left of the gable. The rear facade is inaccessible. The property is situated within a conservation area.
