Description
A three-storey building, consisting of two separate properties, located on east side of Trevor Hill. Overall, there are three bays to front and five to rear due to its unusual plan. Property 1, at left, is one bay wide at front and two bays wide at rear; the house to right (property 2) has two bays to both elevations. Natural slate roof with left gable turned 30 degrees towards facade, creating a valley to front pitch. There is a cement skew to left gable. Cast iron skylight to front pitch. Cement rendered chimney at left and similar to ridge between first and second bay (as viewed from front). Semicircular metal rainwater goods, with downpipe to right. Wall to street façade is squared and coursed granite rubble with raised eaves course. Lower buildings abut the left and right gables; exposed sections of wall above are cement rendered. Property 1 Now a shop with modern frontage, set within a semi-elliptical headed opening. There is a single top-hung window to each floor above, both with granite cills; that to second floor is diminished in height. The rear elevation is cement rendered. Its right bay (as viewed from the rear) is abutted by a two-storey return. It has two modern 1/1 top-hung casement windows to both first and second floors, all with granite cills; top windows diminished in height. The return has a flat roof and blank cement render walls to back gable and left cheek. Property 2 Main entrance is at left and comprises a modern plastic door with similar sidelights and radial fanlight, all set within a semi-elliptical headed opening trimmed with ashlar granite. To its right is a plastic 2x2 top hung window in a cement rendered opening. There are two 1/1 top hung plastic windows to each upper floor, all with granite cills and in line with ground floor openings; those at top are diminished in height. The rear elevation is cement rendered. The right bay (as viewed from the rear) is abutted by a two-storey flat roofed extension. At left, on ground floor, is a 1/1 plastic window. There are identical windows directly above on each floor, and all have granite cills; the top window is diminished in height. A door leads out from the half landing between first and second floors on to the roof of the return and a metal escape ladder is fixed from here to the rear return wall. The return is cement rendered. On its back wall is a modern door and three windows to ground floor, with four similar windows over.
