Description

Part single, part one and a half storey, gabled, vernacular farm house of probable pre 1834 origin, now derelict. The property is set on the E side of the Ballymoney Road, less than a mile N of the small village of Kilcoo, c.4 miles SW of Castlewellan. The front (W) façade is asymmetrical. To the N (left) is the single storey section. To the far right of this section is a small lean-to porch, now without door. To the left is a square (possibly enlarged) window, now boarded over. To the right of the porch (to the one and a half storey portion) is a similar window opening. To the N gable there is a long, rubble-built, gabled outbuilding with two doorways and a window opening. To the S gable there is a single upper level window, with remains of sash frame. To the rear there appears to be a single window to the right, with remains of sash frame. The façade is harled. The single storey portion has corrugated iron to its roof, with natural slate to that of the one and a half storey portion. Rendered chimney stack to each gable. No rw goods.
