A probable pre-1834 gabled vernacular farm house, now derelict, is situated on the east side of Ballymoney Road, approximately one mile north of the village of Kilcoo and four miles southwest of Castlewellan. The asymmetrical front (west) facade consists of a single-storey section to the north (left) and a one-and-a-half storey section to the right. A small, lean-to porch, now without a door, is located at the far right of the single-storey section, next to a square window, now boarded over. To the right of the porch, on the one-and-a-half storey portion, is a similar window opening. The north gable features a long, rubble-built, gabled outbuilding with two doorways and a window opening. A single upper-level window, with remains of a sash frame, is present on the south gable, while the rear displays a single window to the right, also with remnants of a sash frame. The facade is harled, with corrugated iron roofing on the single-storey portion and natural slate roofing on the one-and-a-half storey portion. Each gable has a rendered chimney stack. The house is shown on Ordnance Survey maps dating to 1834 and 1859, believed to represent the structure visible today. In 1863, a John Doherty was listed as the occupant, and the property held a rateable value of £1.
