11 Molly Road, Jonesborough, Newry, Co Armagh, BT35 8HY

A two bay vernacular house aligned N-S on a bend on the SE side of Molly’s Road. Left bay is single-storey and right bay is two-storey. Pitched natural slate roof with tiled verges and a chimney to each end gable – that to right is red brick and that to left is rendered. No rainwater goods. Principal elevation faces W. All walls are lime-rendered rubble stone. Left bay has a window opening (now boarded over) with granite cill – all are detailed as this. Right bay has a windbreak porch to left end and a window to each floor to its right. Porch has a natural slate monopitched roof and t+g entrance door; left and right cheeks are blank. Left gable of left bay is abutted by a lower lean-to outbuilding; the exposed section is blank. Lean-to has corrugated metal roof and t+g sheeted door to W face. Rear elevation is cement rendered. Only one opening to this elevation - a metal-frame window to first floor of left bay. Right gable is abutted by a single-storey outbuilding; the exposed section is blank. Outbuilding is detailed as house with pitched corrugated metal roof and t+g door to W face. The right gable of this outbuilding is abutted by a smaller outbuilding, detailed as before but with natural slate roof. Setting: House is enclosed at road by a lime rendered random rubble wall with stone copings and modern square-in-section gate piers which support a pair of wrought-iron loop-headed gates. To front site is a small garden with outbuilding (of no interest).
