Glynn Primary School, 26 Main Road, Glynn, Larne, Co Antrim, BT40 3HF

Glynn Primary School is an example of an inter-war rural school, designed by Roland Ingleby Smith of the Northern Ireland Office of Works and built between 1920 and 1939 for the Larne Regional Education Committee. Drawings date from 1930, with site plans revised in 1931 and 1932. The building is a single-storey structure, white painted roughcast, with a half-hipped roof over the central block and plain hipped roofs to the lower flanking blocks. It has Bangor blue slate roofs laid in regular courses, and four gabled dormers to the entrance front of the main block. The school has PVC replacement windows throughout. It stands facing Main Road, set back within its own grounds, with a lawn in front. While originally possessing a rural charm, the school's appearance has been compromised by later, inappropriate alterations. Records pertaining to the building are held in the Ministry of Finance files at MBR, Hill Street, Belfast.
