Description
A rectangular corn mill, dating from approximately 1820 to 1839, now much altered and of limited architectural interest. The building has a gabled shape and a concrete tiled roof, with dry dash finish to the walls. A mill wheel of iron with wooden spokes is attached to the south gable. An open doorway provides access, and there are no doors. The mill appears on an Ordnance Survey map of 1832, and was first surveyed in 1970 as a black and white stone building with a slated roof and a water wheel. It is currently used as a playground shelter and stands within a children’s play-park. The building is of industrial archaeological interest.
