Pump, Shore Road, Ballinderry, Lisburn

This is a cow-tailed water pump situated at the junction of Shore Road and Feumore Roads, in the townland of Feumore, Ballinderry, Lisburn. It is a modern replacement, dating from between 1920 and 1939, for an earlier pump that stood on the same site. The pump has a closed head lever and a plain, spirally decorated column topped with a fluted cap and an acorn finial. It currently faces into a hedge and has been incorporated into a garden, having lost its original association with the road junction. While not formally listed, the pump is of industrial archaeological interest and further details can be found in Fred Hammond's 1997 report, 'Water Pumps in Northern Ireland: A Preliminary Survey,' specifically entry number 59.
