Description
This is a small, early 19th-century bridge carrying a single-lane road over a stream. The bridge has a skewed, semicircular arch constructed of random rubble, with split random rubble voussoirs forming the arch itself. The parapets have been rebuilt relatively recently and now feature 'crenellated' copings. The abutments have concrete footings, and the inner face of the arch has been gunited. A bridge is marked at this location on an Ordnance Survey map from 1834, and later maps (1857 and 1907) identify it as 'Killycarnan Bridge'. While having no architectural or historical merit in its own right, the bridge is notable for its industrial archaeological interest.
