Description

A small simple rectangular redbrick 1½ storey cottage set in Farlow wood a short distance from Sampson’s Tower and on the Farlow Road side of it. Although there is no defined path leading to it from Farlow Road, a path access is shown on the O S map and a front garden is defined too. Measuring 7 metres by 4½ externally, it is constructed of handmade redbrick in flemish bond. The single door and windows are all trimmed with broad sandstone surrounds and the quoins are marked with deeply chamfered ashlar sandstone. The south front has a central doorway with window on either side and high up in each gable there is a smaller window. The building is on the way to becoming derelict.
