Poplar Row, 2-8 Kenlis Street, Banbridge, Co Down, BT32 3LR

Poplar Row consisted of a row of two-storey, two-bay cottages that formerly stood on Kenlis Street, Banbridge. The cottages were built sometime after 1861 and have since been demolished and replaced with a supermarket. The First Survey card notes that the buildings were stepped down along a cobbled alleyway, featuring slated roofs and brick walls which were whitened. The windows were characterized by glazing bars. According to the Ulster Architectural Heritage Society’s 1969 survey, the cottages were in poor condition. They did not appear on Ordnance Survey maps from 1833 or 1861, but were shown on the 1860 Ordnance Survey map.
