Description

The remains of a long, single-story terrace, likely dating from before 1834 but probably extended in the later 19th century, are visible. Located at the end of a lane to the north of Ringneill Road, approximately 2.5 miles north of Killinchy, the terrace has been abandoned for several years. The roof is gone but substantial portions of the rubble-built walls remain, along with gable ends and much of the brick chimney stacks, although these are in a dilapidated condition and heavily overgrown.

An earlier structure, similar in shape but possibly smaller, appears on Ordnance Survey maps from 1834 and 1859-60. The first valuation survey of 1834 indicates that the site was then occupied by a William Kelly. By around 1861, the structure appears to have been divided into two dwellings, occupied by Robert Patton and William J. Plunkett. Subsequently, a third dwelling was added, and the regularity of the chimney breasts suggests a significant renovation at this time. Records from 1835 and 1861, alongside Ordnance Survey maps, document the building's evolution. The terrace is recorded as derelict and exhibits vernacular characteristics.
