WWII Observation post, (off Millisle Road), Templepatrick, Donaghadee, Co. Down

This is a small, derelict World War II observation post located on a hilltop to the west of the Millisle Road, approximately one mile south of Donaghadee in County Down. Constructed between 1940 and 1959 as part of Northern Ireland's coastal defenses, the post is six-sided with a flat roof and built of concrete faced with concrete slabs. The eastern face is wider than the others, incorporating two small window slots originally fitted with steel shutters and a low central doorway that once had a steel door. All other faces feature similar window slots. The building is now derelict and retains its original concrete construction.
