2 Hibernia Street, Holywood, County Down

The buildings, originally a two-story house, were demolished and replaced with a modern shopping complex. A surveyor’s record from 1973 describes a building appearing to date to the mid-19th century, though with more recent alterations. The house had a slated roof, a left-hand gable end, and a rendered chimney. The eaves featured twin corbels. The front floor level had horizontal weather boarding, while the ground floor was spatterdashed. It had three front-facing windows on the first floor and two on the ground floor, with plain facings on the ground floor windows. The central doorway was flanked by pilaster jambs, featured a frieze lintel, and had a cornice hood above a plain, recently glazed and flush-panelled door. The building’s front was approximately 26 feet wide and was considered to be in fair condition at the time of the survey.
