68-72 Main Street, Holywood, Co Down

The site, formerly occupied by a terrace of four houses at 68-72 Main Street, Holywood, now contains retail units. The original dwellings were demolished. The First Survey card describes a two-story terrace with a slated roof and a brick chimney on the right-hand gable end. The walls were rendered, lined, and painted, and feature bevelled quoins. The upper floor had eight horizontally-aligned double-hung sash windows with horizontal astragal moulding and no lower sashes. The ground floor layout comprised a door, window, door, window, door, window, door, and window sequence, with the upper floor windows matching. The windows are described as having recent glazed and panelled doors. The condition was recorded as fair. The frontage measured approximately 62 feet and the terrace was depicted on an Ordnance Survey map of 1834.
