8-10 Marine Parade, Holywood, Co Down

The properties at 8-10 Marine Parade, Holywood, Co Down, have been demolished, and the site cleared. A First Survey card indicates the building was a two-storey house with a slated roof. The chimneys were rendered and brick, and the left-hand gable end had a rendered and lined wall. The building had a moulded base and five first-floor, double-height windows with horizontal astrays, arranged in a 2-1-2 pattern. The ground floor had four similar windows and a central doorway with a moulded architrave, outer plain pilasters, and decorative brackets below a corniced hood. A plain fanlight and panelled door completed the entrance. The condition was noted as poor and derelict, with a frontage of approximately 30 feet. The building was suggested to be of a later 19th century date. The First Survey was conducted on 25 July 1973.
