18, 20, 22 Marine Parade, Holywood, County Down

The description relates to numbers 18, 20, and 22 Marine Parade, Holywood, County Down. These properties were originally a block of two houses with a later, third similar house added to number 10. The buildings have since been demolished and the site cleared. The First Survey card notes a slate roof, rendered gable ends, rendered and lined walls, moulded stone eaves, bevel stone quoins, and a moulded stone base. The windows were a mix of ground-floor doors, windows, a coachway, and further windows, with varying styles of glazing: some windows contained three Georgian panes, and others contained four horizontal astrays. Doorways were framed by moulded architraves with plain pilasters and decorative brackets below a corniced hood sheltering a fanlight and a panelled (number 8) or flush-panelled (number 10) door. The coachway had an elliptical arch head and a moulded architrave. The third-story addition to number 10 was deemed unsuitable. The general condition was fair. The frontage measured approximately 52 feet, and the properties appeared on an Ordnance Survey map of 1834. A partial survey was conducted on 25th July 1973.
