The site, located approximately 3.5 miles northwest of Greyabbey and north of the Mountstewart Road, was formerly occupied by a single-storey house, likely built before 1834. The original house was demolished around 1992, and a modern single-storey house now stands on the site. A stone, semicircular arched door surround from the original building has been preserved and now frames the back door (on the northwest elevation) of the modern house.

The original house, as documented in a 1971 survey, was described as a single-storey farmhouse with slated gable-end chimneys rendered and walls finished with a rough-cast ("salt & pepper") texture. It had five windows with vertical astragals, employing a "drop hung" (sash) style. A doorway was positioned between the third and fourth windows and featured a stone surround with a semicircular arched head, a keystone, and plain pilasters. It also had a decorative fanlight and a relatively recent door. The front of the original house measured approximately 65 feet. Farm buildings were formerly adjacent to the farmhouse.

An Ordnance Survey map of 1834 depicts a building partly on this site, which likely corresponds to the house that stood there until its demolition in 1992. The preserved door surround has been incorporated into the new dwelling. Records from the Public Record Office of Northern Ireland (PRONI) referencing the site include Ordnance Survey maps (1834 and 1860 revisions), and first and second valuations of Greyabbey, dating from approximately 1834-38 and 1859 respectively.
