Description
88 Church Street, Antrim, was a five-bay, two-storey house which has been demolished and replaced with a new building. The original house, described in a 1971 survey, had rendered walls and double-hung sash windows with margined panes. The facade featured panelled pilasters extending to an entablature, topped with a dentilled cornice. Its architectural interest was assessed as low.
The building likely dates from the mid-19th century, appearing on an Ordnance Survey map of 1857. Its construction period is estimated to be between 1840 and 1859. The site is located within the Town Parks townland and falls within a conservation area. It was originally used as a house and was under commercial ownership.
