Description

17 Riverside is a mid-19th century house, likely dating between 1840 and 1859, appearing on an Ordnance Survey map of 1857. The building is of little special architectural or historic interest and has been subject to inappropriate alterations.

It is a five-bay, two-storey gabled house featuring pebble-dashed walls and smooth rendered dressings. The roof is slated and incorporates five modern gabled dormers which are sheeted with tongue and grooved boards to the front. The rainwater goods are made of PVC. The gable ends and the rear elevation are also pebble-dashed. A tarmac drive sits to one side, while a concrete-surfaced car park is located to the front. A new three-storey apartment building is currently under construction behind the house. The building is situated within a conservation area and is privately owned.
