Description
This is a two-storey, four-bay building likely dating to the early 19th century, although the precise date is unrecorded. It appears on an Ordnance Survey map from 1832, suggesting a construction date between 1820 and 1839. The building has been rebuilt and altered, which has unfortunately diminished its original character. It features a hipped roof covered in slate and walls finished with roughcast render. The windows are rectangular timber sliding sash windows with a 2 over 2 glazing pattern and horn detailing, with exposed sash boxes. A modern, rectangular timber panel door is present. The north gable is a plain wall, and a modern chimney constructed of red brick with one pot is visible. The rear elevation is built of basalt rubble with brick dressings around the openings; the windows there are modern PVC fixed lights with top-hung vents. A modern, PVC glazed conservatory projects from the rear. The building is situated facing directly onto the street. The front elevation windows were inserted after 1977. Originally a mill, the building is now used as a house and lies within the Antrim Riverside Conservation Area.
