Dunsilly House, 105 Ballymena Road, Dunsilly, Antrim, BT41 4NY

Dunsilly House was a five-bay, two-storey rendered house, likely built between 1820 and 1839. It appears on the Ordnance Survey map of 1832 and stood within the area of the ancient monument, SMR no. ANT 3. The house’s roof was slated, with brick chimneys rising from each gable. It featured twelve-pane sash windows. The main façade had a decorative pilastered surround topped with a triangular pediment over the entrance. The central portion of the façade rose to a gable, with a semi-circular headed attic window above. The windows in the two southern bays differed in size on both the ground and upper floors compared to the two northern bays. A drive led to the house, flanked by two large piers topped with ball finials. The house was demolished and replaced with new houses nearby. It was delisted on 4th February 1987. It was located within a conservation area and had notable characteristics relating to an ancient monument.
