Dunmore Cottage, Shane's Castle Park, Antrim, Co Antrim

Dunmore Cottage was a single-storey cottage built by the O’Neill family of Shane’s Castle as an estate cottage. While the precise date of construction is not known, it appears on Ordnance Survey maps of 1829 and 1832, and is named on the 1858 map. The likely construction date is estimated between 1840 and 1859. The cottage was partly derelict by the early 1970s and has since been demolished, the site now forming part of a field with no visible remains. It was originally constructed of blackstone, with brick detailing around the window openings. The main elevation featured a gabled timber porch over the entrance, flanked by low, plain sash windows, as well as two sheeted doors, a fully glazed triple window, and an eight-pane window. A section of the building to the north was roofless.
