Garage ('New Street Garages'), 44 New Street, Randalstown, Co Antrim, BT41 3AF

This is a single-storey commercial garage, likely dating from around 1945 to 1950, constructed of brick and roughcast with a Belfast Truss roof. It is located on the eastern side of New Street, to the south of the centre of Randalstown. The building is rectangular, measuring approximately 21 metres by 12 metres. The front gable, facing west, is brick and features a large, centrally positioned vehicle entrance with a sliding double timber door, and a timber signboard above. To the right of this entrance is a square window with a mullioned and transomed timber frame. The north elevation abuts a neighbouring house and is blank. The south elevation is roughcast and also blank. A large lean-to extension extends to the rear, featuring a curved corrugated metal roof with a central row of rooflights. The garage may date from around 1945 to 1950. It is of industrial archaeological interest, having been surveyed as part of the Belfast Roof Truss survey. It has a former use as a factory and is currently in use as a factory.
