Methodist Church, 40 New Street, Randalstown, Antrim, Co Antrim

This building was a Methodist church, built sometime between 1840 and 1859 in Randalstown, County Antrim. It was originally constructed from squared blackstone rubble with sandstone surrounds to its lancet windows, which were glazed with lattice panes. The front of the building had a gabled entrance porch, with three windows on one side and two on the other. The road-facing gable featured a group of three lancet windows with a continuous hood mould above them. The church was first recorded on an Ordnance Survey map from 1858, and by 1903 it was named ‘Methodist Chapel’ on Ordnance Survey maps. It was partially demolished in 1989 when it was converted into a petrol filling station, with the remaining structure being demolished in 1995. The site is located within the Randalstown conservation area.
