Description
A three-storey building finished in stucco with canted bays to the upper floors and full-width ground floor shopfronts. Main entrance faces west. Roof of Bangor blue slates in regular courses; three chimneys, smooth cement rendered with projecting cornices; and modern pots. Walling to upper floors is of horizontally channelled smooth white painted render; smooth render to canted bays with moulded panels upper and lower levels; raised smooth rendered and painted shield in the centre of the first floor with 'The White House' in raised letters. PVC gutter and downpipe. Windows are modern rectangular timber fixed lights with top-hung vents; the two to the first floor of the main wall and the single one to the centre of the second floor are surmounted by moulded labels. The ground floor has fluted timber pilasters to each end and in the centre, and an angled panelled timber frieze; two wide modern shopfronts which incorporate rolling steel shutters. Rear elevation: roof slated as to entrance front; windows all modern, comprising fixed lights with top-hung vents and side-hung casements. Walls rendered with a dry dash of white stone chippings. SETTING: The building stands within the built-up area of the town in a terrace of houses with shopfronts, facing directly onto the pavement.
